A major key to a happy life is understanding that humility is not punishment, but a beautiful gift that draws us closer to God and teaches us so much. It is where pride dies, dependence grows, and the heart learns to fully trust our gracious and faithful Lord.
Humility is an honest and wholehearted surrender that will continually shape you into the person you were created to be.
This is what humility teaches me:
-How to love people so deeply.
-How to listen, comfort, and forgive.
-How to pray sincerely, not with vain repetition, but with my whole heart.
-How to encourage broken people without judging them or valuing them any less than I value myself.
-How to sit with someone in pain and truly feel it, while also recognizing that even if I think I fully understand their pain, I don’t.
-How to see that every struggle and circumstance can be used for a greater purpose, and to be truly honored by that.
“The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8 (NLT)
