“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
It is a wonderful thing to know that the Lord’s compassions will literally never fail us, and that His mercies are new every single morning. There is no greater promise than the love and the forgiveness of our amazing Father. And there is no better way to start your day than in His presence.
“Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You.” Psalms 143:8
The Lord’s love is eternal. It is always going to be there waiting for you. Talk to God when you wake up in the morning and let him remind you of His constant love. Put all of your trust in Him. He will show you the way to go. He will guide your steps.
I often repeat Proverbs 3:5-6 to myself: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
Rise early and pray!
“I rise before the dawning of the morning, and cry for help; I hope in Your word.” Psalms 119:147
Cry out to the Lord in the morning, and lay all of your troubles at His feet before you start your day. Allow Him to satisfy your soul with His boundless mercy.
“My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up.” Psalms 5:3
“Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.” Psalms 36:5
“But to You I have cried out, O Lord, and in the morning my prayer comes before You.” Psalms 88:13
“Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days!” Psalms 90:14
And don’t just cry out to the Lord for help, but praise Him for everything that He has already done for you in your life. Rejoice in His amazingness. Proclaim His constant love and faithfulness each morning and each night. I thank God and tell him that I love him at least a dozen times throughout my day. And I glorify the name of Jesus Christ everywhere that I go and in everything that I do.
“It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night.” Psalms 92:1-2
Psalms 113:3 says: “From the rising of the sun to its going down, the Lord’s name is to be praised.”
Every day is a precious gift from God, full of new grace and new opportunities. And I am just so thankful for that. “Matthew 6:34 says that we should be living for today only: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Lift up your voice and your praise, and remember: “This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalms 118:24
Always start your day with God.
